The momentum towards the highly anticipated Isuikwuato Nwanneukwu Cultural Festival 2025 has received another significant boost as the Chairman of the Festival Planning Committee, Chief Goodswill Agu Egbe, PhD, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, visited the Executive Chairman of Isuikwuato LGA, Hon. Chinedu Ekeke, to formally present the customized festival wrapper.
In a show of unity and institutional backing, Chief Egbe was accompanied by Chief Enyioma Ekebuike, the Secretary General of the Isuikwuato Development Union (IDU), the apex body under which the entire cultural festival is officially being organized.
The brief but symbolic ceremony, held at the Mayor’s office in the Isuikwuato LGA Headquarters, was described as “another powerful endorsement” for the cultural renaissance currently sweeping across Isuikwuato.
Chief Dr. Agu Egbe, who has been leading an unprecedented mobilization drive across the autonomous communities of Isuikwuato said the customized wrapper serves as a powerful representation of unity, identity, and renewed cultural consciousness.
He emphasized that the Isuikwuato Nwanneukwu Cultural Festival is designed not only to celebrate heritage but also to: Strengthen communal bonds, Revive forgotten good cultural practices, Promote tourism and local economy and Reposition Isuikwuato as a cultural powerhouse in Abia State
“This wrapper represents our collective identity and the rebirth of our cultural pride,” Chief Egbe said.
“We are happy the Mayor has identified with this movement. His support energizes the entire project.”
Responding, Mayor Chinedu Ekeke expressed deep appreciation to the IDU-led delegation and reaffirmed his commitment to the ongoing cultural revival.
The Mayor also praised the IDU for its strong leadership and organizational structure, stating that their coordination has given the festival “the credibility and institutionality it deserves.”
The Isuikwuato Nwanneukwu Cultural Festival, which continues to attract endorsements from stakeholders, traditional rulers, women groups, youth bodies, community unions, and cultural enthusiasts, is scheduled to hold on: December 23rd – 24th, 2025 at Isuikwuato High School Field.
The 2025 edition will feature: Masquerade displays, Traditional wrestling, Cultural dances, Community parades, Craft exhibitions, Performances from all autonomous communities
Observers across the communities say preparations indicate that this year’s event may become the largest cultural homecoming in the history of Isuikwuato, with expectations already running high.
With the Mayor’s endorsement and IDU’s leadership driving the process, stakeholders say the stage is now fully set for an unforgettable cultural experience.
