Methodist High School, Aba, Abia State is set to roll out the drums in celebration of its 25th Anniversary (2000–2025) with a Silver Jubilee event that not only looks back at two and a half decades of resilience, triumphs, and academic excellence but also launches an ambitious ₦500 million Development Fund to secure the future of the school.

The celebration, scheduled for October 5, 2025, will serve as a platform to honor the founding vision of the institution, chart a bold course for the next 25 years, and rally collective support to complete and equip the school’s permanent site.
Since inception, Methodist High School, Aba, has maintained an enviable academic track record. With a 97% average credit pass rate in external examinations and a 100% pass rate in its maiden BECE in 2003, the school quickly became a model for others to emulate.
By 2006, it had gained full accreditation to conduct all major national examinations, including JSCE, WAEC, and NECO. Its students have consistently excelled nationally, winning prizes in the National Bible Quiz Competition, Nigerian Stock Exchange Essay Competitions, poetry contests, and mathematics olympiads.
The school’s commitment to integrity was recognized in 2008 when it was awarded the Best Exam Malpractice-Free Centre in Abia State.
Its alumni are spread across the globe, thriving as first-class graduates, lawyers, engineers, doctors, entrepreneurs, and leaders in various fields. Beyond academics, the school has excelled in sports (representation at the National Sports Festival), publishing (student-authored books, award-winning magazines), and in instilling strong moral character and leadership qualities.
The Silver Jubilee is not just a celebration—it is a springboard for a greater future. Methodist High School envisions itself as a hub for innovative thinkers, compassionate leaders, and resilient problem-solvers, integrating godliness with holistic education.

Plans are underway to:
Relocate fully to a state-of-the-art permanent site, equipped with modern CBT centers and vocational training facilities.
Expand operations at the Owerri-Aba campus into a full boarding school.
Establish legacy projects that guarantee the sustainability of its mission for the next generation.
Despite its remarkable achievements, the school acknowledges that its current temporary site is limiting expansion, while financial constraints remain the biggest hurdle to completing the permanent campus.
To overcome this, the ₦500 million Development Fund Appeal will be launched during the Silver Jubilee. The management has called on Methodists worldwide, alumni, parents, stakeholders, and lovers of quality education to support this noble cause, describing it as the “supportive sacrifice of all Methodists and advocates of transformational education.”
The anniversary is expected to:
Galvanize alumni and community support for the school’s next phase of development.
Secure significant financial commitments towards the relocation and permanent site project.
Boost prestige and visibility, reinforcing Methodist High School as the premier destination for quality, morally-grounded education in the region.
Launch a legacy project that secures the future of the school for generations to come.
The media parley announcing the Silver Jubilee celebration was overseen by the Proprietor of Methodist High School, Aba, and Methodist Archbishop of Aba, His Grace, The Most Rev’d Dr. Geoffrey AnayoChukwu Agupusi, who reaffirmed the school’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.
