The Traditional Ruler of Amuzukwu Autonomous Community, in Umuahia North LGA of the state, HRH. Eze J. O. Ibeziem has poured his royal blessings on the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti ahead of the 2023 governorship election, wishing him and his team success at the polls.

Receiving Dr. Otti and his team at his palace when they were hosted at Amuzukwu, the Traditional Ruler prayed for him and other LP candidates to succeed in the upcoming elections, and expressed confidence that when Dr. Alex Otti becomes governor of the state, the people will feel the effect of good governance and witness serious revolution in basic infrastructure in the state.

Speaking, an illustrous son of the area and Labour Party stakeholder, Dr. Chimezie Ukegbu poured encomium on Dr. Alex Otti ,  describing him as a banker of repute and a man of  character.

Responding, Dr.  Otti commended the Traditional Ruler and his cabinet for welcoming him, and decried the poor state of Ibeku land, which is the seat of power in the State.

He harped on the need for men and women of substance to get involved in the eadership of the state to avoid surrendering it to the wrong persons, and reassured that the first thing his administration will do is to create jobs and wealth for the people of Abia State as a deliberate decision to ignite economic resurgence.

The ex-bank Chief advised the government to utilize the humongous security votes that are being wasted to support businesses instead of using them to enrich cronies, and frowned at the ranking of Abia as number 32 out of 36 in the Ease of Doing Business.

He assured that as a governor, he would prepare the Abia environment first before talking about attracting foreign investments, insisting that investments only go to where they are welcomed in terms of infrastructure and conducive environment, and promised to revive the Kaolin Mining Industry in Ohiya, Umuahia, while putting drastic measures in place to stop illegal mining in the state.

Finally, Dr. Otti insisted that payment of salary is the most basic thing a government must do without making noise about it, because it’s one of the measures that will always enable citizens to pay their taxes, and therefore called on Abia state government to desist from owing workers their salaries and other entitlements.

Dr. Otti was accompanied on the visit by his wife Priscilla Alex Otti, the State Coordinator of the Alex Otti Campign Council, Hon.

Iheanaccho Obioma (Chomen), the Labour Party House of Representatives candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Chief Obi Aguocha, the House of Assembly Candidates for Umuahia East and Central state constituencies respectively Mr. Chinasa Abiola and  Mr. Austin Okezie, the Director of Protocol Alex Otti Campaign Council, High Chief Victor Ikeji,  Labour Party officials etc.
