Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford willing to reduce pay demands to secure Barcelona transfer in the summer window – Paper Round
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is willing to compromise to make a deal with Barcelona this summer, while Monaco look set to land Eric Dier on a long-term contract when his Bayern Munich deal ends. At Newcastle, they appear to be leading the race for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, and midfielder Sandro Tonali is likely to knock back any interest from other teams.
Rashford wants Barcelona move
The Daily Mirror reports that Marcus Rashford still has his heart set on a move to Barcelona this summer.
While he is currently on loan at Aston Villa, he wants UEFA Champions League football next year, and is prepared to lower his wage demands to get it.
The paper states: “Marcus Rashford’s brother and agent Dwaine Maynard was spotted near Manchester City’s transfer chiefs during City’s recent victory over Aston Villa. However, the England international is still believed to favour a move to Barcelona.
“Rashford, 27, has impressed while on loan at Villa Park. He remains likely to leave parent club United on a permanent basis in the summer, but remains determined to play Champions League football.
“Barcelona remains a dream destination for the forward, who is not believed to be interested in a move to a London club. His wages of £350,000 per week remain a potential stumbling block, though he is said to be willing to take a pay cut if it means a move to Barcelona can materialise.”
