Manchester United interested in signing Jobe Bellingham amid uncertainty over Borussia Dortmund future – Paper Round
Tuesday’s Paper Round leads on Jobe Bellingham, with the midfielder linked with Manchester United amid ongoing uncertainty over his Borussia Dortmund future despite only joining from Sunderland in the summer. Elsewhere, Unai Emery could turn to UEFA Champions League winners PSG for another Aston Villa loan deal, and Watford want to sign a former striker for the third time.
Manchester United are among the Premier League clubs interested in signing Jobe Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, the Daily Mail reports.
The midfielder signed for Dortmund from Sunderland in the summer but has struggled for game time since starting the first two Bundesliga matches of the season, and now a return to England has been mooted.
The Mail adds: “Ruben Amorim is a huge fan of the younger Bellingham brother and could anchor a United move for his services.
“The Red Devils could face competition from another Premier League club in Crystal Palace if indeed Bellingham does depart.
“Marcel Sabitzer and Felix Nmecha are currently preferred in the middle of the park by [Niko] Kovac, ahead of Bellingham.”
Villa eye PSG star
Unai Emery could turn to former club Paris Saint-Germain once more when looking to strengthen in the summer, Birmingham Mail reports.
Villa loaned Marco Asensio from PSG last season and could look to boost their attacking options again in January by turning to the Champions League winners.
Birmingham Mail adds: “Aston Villa wants to sign Lee Kang-in. The South Korean winger has struggled to hold down a starting spot in PSG’s stacked attacking line-up, coming from the bench 23 times last season, including the post-season Club World Cup.
“In 59 league appearances in France, the 24-year-old has managed an impressive 19 returns considering his limited minutes, scoring nine and assisting his team-mates on 10 occasions.”
Watford eye Dennis again
Watford are exploring a deal to sign striker Emmanuel Dennis for the third time, the Daily Mail reports.
Dennis is a free agent after terminating his contract with Nottingham Forest by mutual consent in the summer, and though West Ham United looked into signing the player, he could be returning to Watford.
The Mail adds: “Dennis had a successful spell at Watford after joining them from Brugge in 2021. He scored 10 goals in 35 games before Nottingham Forest stepped in to sign him for £10 million a season later.
“However, he failed to replicate his form at the City Ground and drifted into a couple of loan spells including one at Watford again where he scored four goals.
“Dennis has been eager to remain in one of the top leagues so, despite interest from clubs far and wide, has been particular about where he ends up. However, with time drifting, he has become more open-minded about examining offers from the Championship.”
