Man Sets His Step Children On Fire In Ondo | READ WHY

One Mr Ojo Joseph, has been arrested for allegedly setting five of his step children on fire while they were asleep in Fagun area of Ondo state.

64-year old Joseph was said to have poured petrol into the children’s room and lighted it after a quarrel with his wife who divorced her first husband after birthing the five children.

According to eyewitnesses, one of the stepchildren died while the woman, her four children including the 18-months old twins she had with Joseph, escaped with various degrees of injuries and are receiving medical attention.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the Ondo state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, said;

“We have yet to know why the man committed the act but we heard that he had a misunderstanding with his wife. He is currently in our custody and we have begun investigation into the matter. The suspect will be charged after investigation.”
