A 28 year old Timothy Emmanuel, has been arrested by the police in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State for impersonating an Army officer, and being in possession of AK-49 riffles with two magazines.
The suspect who hails from Plateau State, was intercepted while he was travelling along B.A.D Road, with a military camouflage, driving a black Toyota Corolla Vehicle, suspected to be stolen.
Emmanuel was paraded on Friday, along side other 60 suspected criminals.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, Adesina Soyemi, the suspect who was never enlisted into the Nigerian Army, got the military camouflage from his uncle, a military personnel serving in Borno State.
Soyemi said the AK-49 rifle and two magazines the suspect was arrested with, was stolen from an NSCDC officer serving in Jos. The officer according to the Commissioner, left the rifle in the suspect’s custody and went for his National Identification Number registration.
