Liverpool transfer news, rumours and gossip: Live updates and latest on deals, signings, loans and contracts
Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s situation at Liverpool will have no bearing on what happens with the futures of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk as all contract offers have been drafted on individual merit, data and circumstances.
The optimism from Liverpool is still strong that Salah and Van Dijk, who along with Alexander-Arnold are both out of contract in the summer, will remain at Anfield.
With regards to Alexander-Arnold, all parties – including Real Madrid – have made it very clear that any decision would not be driven by money.
They are also aligned in showing surprise at the stories that emerged this week, given nothing major has changed since January – no agreement has been reached, no deal has been signed, nor has a conclusion been communicated to either club.
Real, as always, are confident of getting their target.
Alexander-Arnold, as has been the case all season, is very interested in making the switch to the Spanish capital, but his focus has centred around delivering silverware.
‘Liverpool target’ Kerkez addresses his future
Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez says he is keen to sign for one of Europe’s top clubs.
Liverpool have been linked with the 21-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.
Kerkez was on the books for AC Milan earlier in his career, but never made an appearance, and is now eyeing a return to another big club.
Asked if that is the next step in his career, Kerkez told The Athletic: “Yeah. As a kid, you dream to play at the highest level, win the trophies, be on the best teams.
“These are the things that my agent is on. My dad is on. It is not something that they occupy me with because the season is still going, so there’s no point to talk about anything.
“There’s games left, the FA Cup is important for us — these are big things. And then, like I say, when someone comes (in for you) you never know what’s going to happen or where you’re going to end up. In the summer, we will see what happens.”
Kerkez comments on Liverpool transfer talk
The 21-year-old has been a standout performer for the Cherries this season, scoring twice and providing five assists across his 29 appearances in the top-flight, which have since grabbed the attention of top clubs across Europe.
The Reds are one of the teams to be linked with a possible more in the near future – and Kerkez has now commented on the rumours.
“It’s not like I don’t see it (the comments),” he told the Athletic.
“When people say they don’t see stuff if someone says something about you, I think it’s a lie. It’s only if it hits you or not.
“If someone says something bad, I do my job, and if someone says something good, I just do my job. That’s it.”
Is Salah set to sign a new Liverpool deal?
Liverpool’s talks over extending Mohamed Salah’s stay are more advanced than ever, according to a report in Egypt.
Salah, who is the Premier League’s top scorer with 27 goals in 29 games, is out of contract at the end of the season.
But Masrawy, a major news outlet in Salah’s homeland, is now claiming that talks with the 32-year-old’s agent Ramy Abbas are progressing.
The report claims that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s expected move to Real Madrid as a free agent is a major factor behind this development.
If Alexander-Arnold does leave, it will free up space on the Liverpool wage bill allowing for Salah’s demands to be met, report Masrawy.
