The Minority Whip/member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate Chief Whip/Senator representing Abia North, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu and Minister of Power, Engr. Saleh Mamman, on their efforts to revitalize the abandoned Electric Power Station, in Uburu Ihechiowa, Arochukwu LGA.
The Lawmaker gave the commendation during the inspection of the Power Station, by the Minister of Power, Engr. Saleh Mamman, at Arochukwu, ably led by Senator Kalu, expressed delight that after years of abandonment, the Power Station will soon receive full attention.
Hon. Ukoha, specifically thanked President Muhammadu Buhari and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, for being at the forefront in toward the rehabilitation of the Station, noting that when completed, it will make the people of Arochukwu LGA, to have a sense of belonging as well as feel the true impact of dividend Democracy in action.
He further hinted that the Power Station, will help to bring about even development and industrialization, which will contribute to the revenue base of Abia State and Nigeria in general.
Earlier, the Minister of Power, Engr. Saleh Mamman, expressed joy on the warm reception given to him by the people of Arochukwu LGA and assured that work will soon commence at the Station, due to its strategic importance to the country’s economy.
Speaking at the event, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, explained that the Power Station was started during his tenure as Abia State Governor and assured that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, is willing to complete the project for the betterment of the people of Arochukwu LGA.
