A Ghanaian lady identified as Sandra A. Martey has graduated with first class from University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), Ghana after 10 years of pursing a degree programme with series of carry over.
Martey who also came top of her class, began studying Economics and Mathematics at the University of Ghana(UG), Legon but was unable to graduate due to low grades.
According to Edward Asare on LinkedIn, Martey was forced to study the course by her father against her wish to study Business Administration.
“She wasn’t enjoying the course. It wasn’t what she wanted but she decided to do it because her Dad chose it for her. Her dream was to read Business Administration.”
She reportedly struggled and had to rewrite lots of papers even after her mates had graduated. She got tired, depressed and gave up on the degree at Legon.
Afterwards she joined Roverman Productions and started acting stage plays, which was when she realized that Public Relation (PR) was her passion.
She applied to the University of Professional Studies Accra and started all over again where she graduated with first-class and valedictorian of her class in PR.
