Hon. Lucky Johnson, in his resignation speech, cited deep-rooted divisions within the PDP, spanning from the national to the state leadership, as the reason for his decision to exit the party. His defection marks a significant political shift in Abia State as more lawmakers align with the progressive governance of Governor Alex Otti.

In a press release made available to the media, Ahia, SAN, congratulated Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson on his courageous decision to join the Labour Party, describing it as a bold step toward real progressive leadership. He commended the lawmaker for choosing to support Governor Alex Otti’s administration in its mission to reposition Abia State for economic growth and infrastructural development.

“The defection of Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson to the Labour Party is a testament to the fact that true progressives are aligning to move Abia State forward. His decision to leave behind the deeply divided PDP and join a movement committed to good governance and real development is highly commendable,” Ahia stated.

He further assured Hon. Lucky Udoka of the Labour Party’s commitment to transparency, inclusive governance, and policies aimed at ensuring a better future for all Abians. According to him, the move strengthens the party’s growing dominance in the state legislature and signals a broader realignment in Abia politics.

The legal luminary urged other well-meaning leaders to take a cue from Hon. Lucky Nweke’s bold move and join forces in ensuring that the transformation of Abia State, under Governor Otti’s administration, continues unhindered. He emphasized that the Labour Party remains the best political platform for achieving real development and providing effective representation to the people of Abia.

With this defection, the political landscape in Abia State is set for more realignments, as observers anticipate more lawmakers and stakeholders shifting allegiance to the Labour Party.
