Just in: Nasarawa state signed into law the Child rights act

The Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has signed into law the Child Right Protection Executive Order. The Executive Order seeks to ban child street begging in the state. The law prescribes ten years imprisonment for parents who allow their children go into street begging.

The Governor also signed into law the state Anti Kidnapping bill to curb kidnapping. The law prescribes death penalty and life imprisonment for anyone found guilty of the act. It also prescribes forfeiture of buildings used to accommodate kidnappers and their victims.
