Tension has risen in Oto community in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State as gunmen shot a soldier dead and carted away their rifles.
Report says the gunmen stormed the area in a speed boat through the Oton river and opened fire on the soldiers at their checkpoint near the river.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the report in a telephone chat.
She said, ”Yes! It’s true. His rifle was carted away.”
