The Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area legislative council chamber constructed by the honourable member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South in the Federal House of Representative, Rt.Hon Darlington Nwokocha has been named after the immediate past governor of Abia State and the senator representing Abia central in the red chambers, Senator T.A Orji(Ochendo) through a bill that was passed by the council members on Friday 16th July 2021.
During the project commissioning, the honourable member revealed that the action of the Local Government Legislators is token to appreciate the former governor and the senator for his legacy projects which has affected the lives of his people positively.
Senator T.A Orji on his part,while reacting to the honour done on him expressed gratitude to the local government honourable members for the honour, he stated that such recognition on him may be connected to the fact that he has attracted numerous dividends of democracy to the Local government that has benefited their constituents.
Senator T.Orji also prayed for the people of Isiala Ngwa North and South especially the councillors. He admonished the councillors for whom the legislative council was built for ,to see their present position as a perquisite for greater political position. According to the former governor, most of them who are councillors today base on their performance, will find themselves at the state house of assembly, House of Representative, Senate and other enviable positions.
He also advised the local government law makers not to allow themselves to be used by political detractors to disrupt the polity in the local government, which can even escalate to the state level and beyond.
Ocendo once again on be half of himself and his family appreciated Hon.Darlington Nwokocha, whom he described as a son and friend.He prayed God to give him the grace ,to continuously attract dividends of democracy to his constituents as he holds sway at the green chamber.
