The Ohaneze Youth Council which is the apex youth socio- cultural organization among the IBO ethnic group has alleged there is a plot among some top leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to ensured that the supreme leader of the group Mazi Nnamdi Kanu dies in detention were is currently being held by the Directorate of State Security (DSS), in case this fails, they also intend making is trial unending and needless prolonged.

The Ohaneze Youth Council disclosed this to the public in Owerri in Imo State on Saturday 18th September 2021 through its national president Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka. The OYC President while speaking to newsmen stated that some cliques at the corridor of powers in IPOB are deliberately and craftily dishing out ideas and plans that are counterproductive or ill-motive to frustrate the legal fight of Nnamdi Kanu lawyers.  He said this clique of power mongers are unhappy with legal dexterity of Nnamdi Kanu’s councils Barristers Ejiofor and Ejimakor and as such are bent on frustrating their effort for their parochial interests.

Com. Igboayaka expressed disappointment that the conspirators were none other than supposed leaders of secessionist group IPOB. He accused them of plotting the downfall of Kanu through their sugar-coated utterances. He alleged that 60% of this sabotage is coming from leaders of IPOB in diaspora, and had stretched their antenna to enroll other apostles of Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB in Nigeria into their new business.

The Ohaneze Youth through its leader expressed worries over the safety of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the hand of Nigeria. The OYC leader argued that to ensure the Mazi Kanu’s safety, IPOB operational tactics needs to change. He said this has become necessary because of selfish men that want to indict Mazi Nnamdi Kanu through their utterances and actions that seem to show love or loyalty to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, but when analyzed is aimed at frustrating his release.

Comrade Igboayaka opined that It’s unfortunate that power and positions, bread and butter have become the utmost interest of this selfish power drunken elements in IPOB, instead of the release and safety of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. What matters most to them is as far they feast fat on the treasury of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu can die or remain in detention. He further stated that this scrupulous elements in IPOB have equipped some gangster to unleash mayhem in Igbo land, engaging in kidnapping, robbery, using sit-at home protest to commit crime against Ndigbo in order to indict IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu before Nigeria and International community.

He urged those he referred to as true apostles of IPOB, to remain resolute and not to deviate from the actual goal, hence the actualization of self-determination. He advised that any approach that may indict Mazi Nnamdi Kanu before the oppressors should be changed.
