Inter Milan have reportedly placed a strict price limit on their move for Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman as transfer talks continue this summer.

Inter Milan have drawn a firm line on their move for Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, setting a maximum bid of €45 million plus bonuses for the Atalanta star as negotiations continue in a tense summer transfer saga.

The 27-year-old Nigerian, currently one of Serie A’s most sought-after attackers following his 2024 African Player of the Year award, remains Inter’s primary transfer target.

However, Atalanta have shown strong resistance to selling one of their key players to a direct league rival, having already rejected Inter’s initial offer of €45 million.

Reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, as also reported by Football Italia, reveal Inter’s price cap stands at €45 million upfront, with bonuses potentially lifting the deal to €50 million, but the Serie A giants are unwilling to stretch beyond this figure.

Despite Lookman’s desire to join Inter and his public expression of frustration through transfer request on social media, accusing Atalanta of broken promises and poor treatment, the clubs have yet to find common ground.

Atalanta’s reluctance to negotiate with Inter intensifies the deadlock, especially given their preference against strengthening a league competitor with their Nigerian forward, who is also wanted by champions SSC Napoli.

This standoff comes after Lookman’s increasingly strained relationship with Atalanta, highlighted by his absence from training and the clearing out of his locker, emphasising his push for a move to Inter.

Both clubs and the player now face a critical period, with Inter preparing to make another improved bid in hopes of concluding the transfer swiftly.
