IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu has spoken out against the recent killings and insecurity in Southeast Nigeria, condemning all forms of violence. He emphasized that IPOB was founded on non-violence principles and urged for peace and the end of all killings.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has spoken out against the rising insecurity and killings occurring in Southeast Nigeria. Following a recent court session, Kanu made it clear that the violence, including the killing of soldiers and civilians, is unacceptable.

“The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was founded on a non-violence principle, and we maintain that point to this very day. I condemn every manner of killing in its entirety,” Kanu stated. He highlighted that some of the soldiers killed are from local communities, leaving families in mourning and creating young widows.

“Some of these soldiers we were told are our people and the families are now in mourning. All the making of young widows is condemned in its entirety. I don’t want it, I don’t want anybody to die. We are fighting for freedom, how can we fight for death at the same time? It is not possible,” he continued.

Kanu’s comments come in the wake of a tragic incident two weeks ago where four soldiers were killed by unknown gunmen in Aba, Abia State. This event has further heightened tensions and insecurity in the region.

The IPOB leader’s firm stance against violence underscores the group’s commitment to achieving their goals through peaceful means. He urged all involved to reconsider their actions and strive for a resolution that does not involve bloodshed.

By calling for an end to violence, Nnamdi Kanu aims to redirect the movement’s efforts towards peaceful advocacy and dialogue, ensuring that the fight for freedom does not result in further loss of life. WATCH VIDEO BELOW:
