The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and the PDP standard-bearer for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency at the February 25th election, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji FNSE was earlier today unanimously adopted by the entire Ubakala youths.
The adoption which was done across party lines was said to be informed by the Speaker’s proven competence and records of service to the communities and people of the Federal Constituency without any consideration for party affiliations.
Speaking at the event which held at Ubakala Mini Stadium, Ubakala in Umuahia South, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji thanked the youths for coming together to take a decision that would be of immense benefit to them in no distant time.
He pledged to attract more community-oriented development projects to them especially as it affects the youths, saying the adoption today would serve as an energiser for him to do more.
Finally, the Speaker urged the youths to also support and vote for Col Austin Akobundu (rtd), to emerge as the next Senator to represent Abia Central Senatorial District.
On his part, the Leader of Ubakala Youth Political Forum, Hon Kelechi Aguiyi, said all the youths in Ubakala committed to wholly support and adopt the Speaker as their sole candidate because of his verifiable legislative, professional and political competence, and service to the people, thereby making him unarguably the best candidate for Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency.
He assured the Speaker that they would vote massively for him in all the wards in Ubakala.
In their respective speeches, the coordinators of all the political wards in Ubakala promised to work assiduously for the emergence of the Speaker at the polls.
The youths had earlier presented a certificate of adoption and other campaign materials to Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji.
