Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has vowed to complete all ongoing projects in the state as well as clear backlogs of salaries being owed agencies and Parastatals while reiterating that core civil servants who according to him constitute 70% of the Abia workforce are update with their salaries as at November, 2020.
The Governor who disclosed in his official twitter handle @GovernorIkpeazu listed the ongoing projects to be completed, Osisioma flyover, Aba-Owerri Road,ABSUTH road.He also promised to complete the extension of the Umuahia access road through Ubakala to link A for Ibeji.
Other project listed by governor to be completed soon includes;Ohanku road,asphalting of Osusu road,and completion of Immaculate road,Empire road Ohuhu,Milverton/Cemetery road,Eziukwu road as well as internal roads of Federal Medical Center ,Osisioma junction to Ekekpara road,Trinity road,and other internal roads in Umuahia.
Governor Ikpeazu stated that beyond these roads mentioned he will also ensure the completion of the Agbama and Abiriba ring roads,the governor also promised to add another 3km to the Okobo Bridge in Arochukwu to ensure that Arochukwu people will commute more easily this yuletide season and beyond.
Dr.Ikpeazu also promised to give attention to Port-Harcourt road which he described as an ambitious projects ,while also state that work will soon resume on the new government house projects, stating that the government house project will be completed before the expiration of his tenure in 2023.
The Abia state Chief Executive adduced that priority will be given to other projects within the state as the economic fortune of the state improves.He called on all Abians to join hands and work with him to ensure the stability as well as ensuring that the state keeps moving forward despite the present economic circumstances.
