The executive governor of Abia State Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is expected to departed the state on Monday 28th,June 2021 on a foreign trip to woo investors to the state.
According to a press release signed by the Abia State Commissioner for information, Chief John Okiyi-Kalu and made available to All Facts Newspaper, the governor is expected to be back to the state on or before 8th of July, 2021.
During his trip, he will meet with key foreign investors in the garment and shoe industry, as well as engage with investors who previously indicated interest in the Enyimba Economic City Project which was temporarily stalled by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and its associated restrictions on international travels, and other global economic challenges.
The press release further stated that the planned trip by the governor is in line with industrialization and educational development agenda of the government.The governor is also expected to meet with h key foreign partners to among other things formalize relevant agreements on the foreign scholarship scheme which is expected to benefit more than 2,000 qualified Abia youths who will train in various skill areas starting from September 2021,the press States.
