The Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has been presented with the 2019 Vanguard Governor of the year award by the Vanguard Newspaper.
Speaking shortly after receiving the award held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos State, Governor Ikpeazu described Abia State as a safe haven for business operatives, local and foreign investors.
Governor Ikpeazu who assured that his government will continue to provide the right ambient for the continued growth of Small businesses across the state, revealed that the improved security situation in the state coupled with access to more quality roads created by his administration has increased businesses to thrive effectively.

Governor Ikpeazu represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof. A.C.B Agbazuere expressed joy that his campaingn for made in Aba products and it’s standardization has paid off as artisans in Aba can now proudly inscribe made in Aba as a brand, noted that his revolutionary and massive provision of physical infrastructure across the state and human capacity development of Abians has seen the state maintain first position in WAEC in three consecutive years at the national level.
The State Chief Executive while appreciating the Vanguard Newspaper for the honor done him disclosed that the award will spur the state to do more as well as engage in most holistic approaches to economic activities in the state.
