IHECHIOWA BULLET VICTIM: ORJI KALU IS DESPERATE FOR POWER – MAO OHUABUNWA

The Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Dr Mao Ohuabunwa today paid a visit to the young man who was injured in an accidental discharge by security details of the former governor of Abia State and senatorial aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia North, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, during the said visit of the later to Ihechiowa in Arochukwu local government area of the state.

Senator Ohuabunwa who together with his team visited the victim, Mr Ogbonna Eke at the federal medical centre in Umuahia, lamented the terrible abuse of power by his opponent who he described as desperate and who would stop at nothing to grab power ultimately, admonished the family of the victim and consoled them.

Narrating the ordeal, the caregiver of the victim, Mr Ogbonna Kalu Oso explained to the visiting team the incident of the event. He said the victim was not at the site of the incident but was hit by a stray bullet which pierced through his stomach.

When asked further if there was any effort made by the perpetrators of this act to help out with medical care the patient’s caregiver denied any attempt made by Dr Orji Uzor Kalu.

On his own part, the Senator made an instant donation of huge sums of cash to the patient, and promised to foot the bills of the patient; mandating that proper medical attention is granted to the patient at his own expense.

Responding, the patient’s caregiver who is also a relative, thanked Dr Ohuabunwa for his kind gesture and wished him the best on the forthcoming election. Dr Ohuabunwa similarly led a prayer session where he pleaded for God’s speedy and a hitch-free recovery process of Mr Eke.

On his way out Dr Ohuabunwa also visited patients in some wards of the hospital and doled out cash gifts, which led to the elation of the patients.
