ADDRESS TO ABIA YOUTHS BY HON. EMEKA IKWUAGWU.
My name is Emeka George Ikwuagwu. I am one of You, who Our Governor graciously appointed to serve you all. I see myself not as better than everyone but as a humble servant whose mission is to celebrate the youths of Abia state while executing the vision of our Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for the young people.
I am here as your Commissioner to tap into the potential and power of our young people to shape the future of our dear state. We, in Abia State are blessed with very intelligent young people and a Governor who has the youth at heart. Our Governor has continuously created opportunity for young people of Abia State to ensure they are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but also change agents of today.
Since 2015, the Governor of Abia state has performed maximally in areas that benefitted the youths mostly; whether it is ensuring our students have access to qualitative education which has resulted in back to back first position in National exams, promoting skill acquisition and self reliance through intensive marketing of Aba made products with resultant improved patronage and product acceptability, strengthening of skills by sending our young people to China, exchange programs and network to grow start-up in agribusiness.
Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is investing in the potential of the next generation. We, as Abia Youths must key into these opportunities created by our beloved Governor for our own sustainable economic development. Through his policy of training the trainer, many young people are working together to learn from one another and effect change for themselves and in their communities.
Youth are often the voices at the forefront of advocating for good governance, societal advancement and improvement. From the activists on social media to the ones in our communities; I am assuring you all that you shall be heard. We shall open up different communication channels where real-time feedback will be effective. For those who think vices and crime are the only way out, we shall offer you amnesty to turn a new leaf. We shall help you find meaningful sources of livelihood made possible through the opportunities created by our Governor. You do not have reasons to continue in crime. Our students would be engaged in sporting and other extracurricular activities to occupy them against joining secret cults, prostitution etc. We shall hold counseling, seminars and symposia that will assist Cultists come out from their confraternities through open denunciation.
Abia Youth see a world of endless possibilities under the government of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu. This is our chance to take action by optimally utilizing the opportunity we have with Dr. Ikpeazu.
I salute the energetic spirit of our young people in Abia. Together we will improve the future of humanity and our state Abia.
