Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency at House of Representative, Hon. Samuel Onuigbo has expressed satisfaction in New Electoral Act 2022.
Onuigbo who was featured in a special interview on Vision Africa Radio and monitored by ALL FACT NEWSPAPER stated that the Act has produced positive electoral results as evidenced in the recent governorship elections in Anambra and Osun states.

Answering questions which bordered on his emergence as the All Progressive Congress (APC), Senatorial Candidate for Abia Central and the wrangling that has trailed it, Onuigbo revealed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in accordance with the provisions of the New Electoral Act witnessed and conducted the primary and issued him certificate as the authentic winner.
According to him, the APC senatorial primary of Abia Central, were contested by him and Henry Ikoh, after Hon. Nkechi Nwogu withdrawal and the demise of K. C Ugboaja, adding that it was rather surprising that Emeka Atuma was brought into the picture as he never contested nor was part of the primary election.
Expressing optimism about his chances going clinching the senatorial position, next year, Onuigbo noted that he has demonstrated capacity over time and even as an Honourable member in the House of Representative, attracting and facilitating the Ikot-Ekpene road, Empowering people from his constituency in skill acquisitions and empowerment, among others.
He opined that he is a product of the people as he got into the office by the power and support of the people, hence his allegiance to them.
“The people voted for, that’s why anytime I have opportunity to give back to them, I do not hesitate, and I am sure that the people will replicate that support for me, come 2023 general election”
