An Ekiti State Chief Magistrate Court has ordered for two men, identified as Olamide Ebenezar (24),and Kolade Oladipo (31) to be remanded in Ado Ekiti custodial centre for allegedly scaling a fence to r-ape a 16-year-old girl in her mother’s room.

The Chief Magistrate, Saka Afunso gave the order on Wednesday, October 6, after a prosecutor of the Department of State Services (DSS), E.S. Atane, brought an ex-parte motion requesting for the remand of the suspects in custody pending the completion of the DSS’ investigations.

Atane added that the detention would also allow for the “onward transmission of the duplicate case file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice”.

According to the charge file; “The two defendants were reasonably suspected to have committed the offence of r-ape on a 16-year-old student, punishable under Section 2(2) of the Ekiti State Gender-Based Violence (Prohibition) Amended Law, 2019.”

Giving an account of the alleged r-ape incident before the court, the victim, through the police, narrated;

“The defendants on 27th of September, 2021, around 2pm, jumped into our compound at Ajilosun and had s-ex with me in my mother’s room when she (my mother) traveled to Lagos.”

The case was adjourned till November 9, 2021 for mention.
