Suspected Bandits Reportedly Kill Popular Igbo Businessman

An Igbo businessman named Musa Ukagba has reportedly been killed by bandits terrorist in the Orlu local government area of Imo state.

According to Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Drainage and Water Resources via his Facebook page, disclosed that bandits were still killing people in Igbo land.

He also noted that Ukagba had visited the village when the bandits struck, killing him in the process.

Sharing the photo of the businessman on his Facebook page, He wrote;

”Bandits are still killing people in Igboland. Musa Ukagba goes down in Akwakuma Okporo Orlu, Imo state today. He just came back to the village. Whose next.”

Meanwhile, Gunmen suspected to be bandit terrorists have killed a hunter, while thirty people were abducted in Zazzaga Community, Munya Local Government Area of Niger State.

The development was confirmed by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Monday Bala Kuryas.

According to Kuryas, the terrorists attacked the community at 2 am on Wednesday, adding that, “the police are already on the trail of the attackers to rescue the kidnapped victims unhurt.”

The Secretary of Munya Local Government, James Jagaba, who spoke with Daily Trust said 68 people were kidnapped, including women and children.

He said, “They came in large numbers when the victims were sleeping and took control of the community. One person was killed, three were shot while 68 persons were kidnapped.”

A source noted that the terrorists attacked from one house to the other in the affected community.

“A hunter was shot dead during a gun duel with the criminals. We don’t know the whereabouts of the kidnapped persons. But security personnel comprising the police, military and vigilantes have been deployed in the community,” he said.
