HOW POLICEMAN ALLEGEDLY KILLED A PROTESTING MOTORCYCLIST IN ONDO MOTORCYCLIST
Commercial motorcyclists (Okada riders) in Ondo state on Wednesday, protested the alleged killing of one of their colleagues by a police man.
The riders were protesting the killing of their colleague by a vehicle allegedly belonging to the state Ministry of Agriculture. The driver of the vehicle was said to have escaped from the scene after the okada driver and a passenger reportedly died on the spot.
This angered the others who staged a protest. However, a mobile policeman guarding a petrol station at Arakala area of Akure the state capital, reportedly killed another okada man who was protesting.
The policeman was said to have fired a shot to disperse the protesters, unfortunately, the okada man was hit.
Eyewitnesses said the motorcyclist in their numbers matched to the ‘A’ Division Police Station, threw stones into the building demanding for the policeman who shot their colleague to be released to them.
Policemen on duty were said to have fled.
 “Some policemen scaled the fence and ran away, while others struggled to take their vehicles away from the barracks.
“Bonfires were set in front of the ‘A’ Division as the Okada riders demanded to see the policeman who shot dead one of their colleagues.
