Operatives of the Kaduna state police command on Monday, December 13, engaged suspected bandits in a gun battle killing at least two.
According to the state command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mohammed Jalige, the operation was carried out at about 4:30pm, in Riheyi village within Fatika district of Giwa Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna.
Jalige said operatives of 47 PMF Squadron, Zaria, intercepted and engaged the bandits when there were on confidence-building patrol.
“Having applied gallantry that successfully neutralized two bandits, they recovered an AK47 rifle loaded with ten rounds of 7.62 X 39mm live ammunition and an operational motorcycle,’’ Jalige said in a statement on Tuesday.
