How Over 300 Bandits Stormed Police Camp In Kebbi, Cart Away Rifles

More than 300 armed bandits stormed Makuku Village in the Sakaba Local Government Area on Thursday, attacking a police camp and stealing eight AK-47 rifles.

Sources who spoke to renowned security expert, Zagazola Makama, revealed that the heavily armed attackers, believed to be cattle rustlers with a large herd taken from Niger State on their way to Zamfara, initiated the assault around 1:00 p.m.

According to the sources, the attack led to a fierce exchange of gunfire; however, the bandits overpowered the officers present. During the assault, the bandits set fire to the police operational vehicle, a Toyota Hilux, and absconded with eight AK-47 rifles belonging to the unit.

In response, Army troops from Operation FANSAN YANMA and other security forces were dispatched to the area to carry out search-and-rescue operations and recover the stolen weapons.

The troops are pursuing the bandits along their escape routes.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army on Wednesday, confirmed that several soldiers lost their lives when armed terrorists attacked forward operating bases in the general areas of Kwanar Dutse Mairiga and Boka Niger State, and Aungwan Turai Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to the Army statement, the attacks occurred on Tuesday, 24th June.

Following the attack by the bandits, the Nigerian Army launched several counterattacks, including land and air responses, leading to the death of scores of bandits in the fierce battle.

Unfortunately, apart from the soldiers who lost their lives, four other soldiers were also wounded in battle and are receiving treatment for gunshot wounds.
