More Details: How Methodist Church Prelate, Bishop, Another Were Kidnapped In Abia

Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Samuel Uche, was on Sunday, May 29, kidnapped alongside Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark, Bishop of Owerri Diocese and the prelate’s chaplain in Abia state.

The incident happened at about 2pm when the clergymen were returning from a church event in Okigwe (Imo State) to Isuochi in Umu Nneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) Geoffrey Ogbonna, said;

“Yes, the prelate and two other priests that were with him were abducted.

“They were on their way from Okigwe to Isuochi while they were travelling for a church activity, and it happened between the hours of 1:30 and 2pm.”

“We have mobilised all the tactical teams to ensure they are rescued and for the possible arrest of the hoodlums.

 

“We are calling on members of the public to volunteer credible information that would help us in the rescue of the victims and for the possible arrest of the suspects.”

Meanwhile, as at press time, the abductors are yet to make contact.
