Police have confirmed the arrest of a woman accused of killing a man in Akwa Ibom and running off with his vehicle and a huge amount of money.

The woman, Lorretta Anoh, is held for questioning at the ‘B’ division police station in Ewet housing estate, Uyo, after the body of Mr Chikoka Emeka Henry, 36, was found lying lifeless in his apartment, with a cut on his head, on Wednesday 4 August.

Police said she had confessed to walking away with nearly N3million naira ripped off from the deceased, and that operatives rounded her up while she was making arrangements to change the ownership of the victim’s vehicle, a Mercedes Benz 4matic jeep, that she absconded with on Tuesday 3 August.

State police spokesman SP Odiko Macdon said the brother of the deceased, Mr Collins Okpara, reported the matter after he visited Chikoka’s apartment — at 2 Samuel Effanga street, Osongama housing estate in Uyo — following unanswered phone calls and messages.

On arrival, Collins found Chikoka lying in his pool of blood, dead, SP Macdon said in a statement.
