How LP National Chairman, Abure Is Secretly Allying With Opposition – Treasurer | READ MORE
The National Treasurer of the Labour Party, Mrs Oluchi Oparah, has alleged that the party’s National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, has a secret alliance with the opposition.
Oparah who appeared on Arise TV’s Morning Show programme on Tuesday, accused Abure of fraternizing with the PDP government in Edo State.
“I want to state the fact that they are masters at disseminating wrong information. What do I mean by that? When issues like these are being played out, the right thing to be done is to carry out an investigation. And I am speaking from the place of strength, asking that the right thing should be done.
“Now, they are always quick to accuse someone of being sponsored, especially from the opposition party. I want to State it clearly here that if there’s anybody that has any alliance with the opposition, it’s the National Chairman of the Labour Party. Let him come out and say he hasn’t been in talks with the government of Edo State.”
“Next, I raised the issue of money laundering, misappropriation and a whole lot of embezzlement that happened.
“I also stated the fact that the signature of the late national chairman of our party, Salami, was forged two months after his death to withdraw money from the account.
“How on earth did he come out from his grave to come and sign signature?,” she said.
“So if the national chairman feels I’m lying, let him come out clear and say that I have lied against him” Oparah stated.
ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER (AFNEWS), had reported that Oparah had accused Abure of mismanaging N3.5billion being proceeds of sale of forms and sundry fundraisers for the 2023 general elections.
However, the Labour Party, through it’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, said Oparah was under external influences, causing her to read out a “concocted statement drafted by detractors to tar the image of the party”.
