How I Will Create Employment For Abia Youths Under 6-Months – Chibuike Jonas, ADP Guber Candidate
The governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Abia State, Honourable Chibuike Jonas, has assured Abia youths that if elected at the Saturday, March 11, 2023 governorship election, he will create employment opportunities for them within six months of being in office as the governor of the state.
Explaining how he intends to create job opportunities for Abia youths, Jonas in an interview with ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER said his administration if elected, will resuscitate moribund industries in the state in his first 6 months in office and will also invest in the agricultural sector by forming small scale industries for rubber, coca and palm production which will engage the youths and also generate revenue for the state.
“we will invest into agriculture and expand it to create jobs for our youths” says Jonas who won an award as the best local government chairman in Abia state and south east when he served as the chairman of Arochukwu Local Government Area.
Speaking on the challenge of non payment of salaries in the state, the governorship hopeful regretted that Abia state government has failed to properly implement salary payment noting, that the state should not be listed in the category of states that owe workers.
“Abians be patient. If you support me to become governor, I’ll stop the issue of non-payment of salaries.” he assured.
“When I became Arochukwu Local Government chairman, I cleared the 5 months salary backlogs using my security vote. No local government worker was owed from when I became chairman till I left in 2000”.
“I assure Abians that within 5 months of being in office as governor, I will clear all backlog of salaries and pension owed in Abia state. Civil servants will no longer be owed; I have done it before, I’ll do it again” Jonas pledged.
He further enlightened on his infrastructural developmental plans for Abia state, noting that the mineral resources in various areas of the state like (limestone for producing cement sited in Arochukwu and rocks in Umunneochi and OKigwe), would be used to cut down the cost of road construction.
“I will cut down the cost of building roads; I have plans to build train systems that will connect all the local governments and zones”.
“The train system will help farmers transport their goods from the rural areas to the cities and neighboring states” Jonas stated.
