Two private escort vans on Monday, rammed into three tricycles (keke) killing at least two while others sustained various degrees of injury in Ilorin, Kwara state.

The escort vans which were said to be speeding ran into the tricycles in front of the Ministry of Agriculture roundabout at about 10am.

Eyewitnesses reports that one of the escort vans somersaulted and hit the roundabout, while the second van, crushed the three tricycles, killing two persons on the spot

One of the drivers of the escort vans was saved by passersby from being lynched by other tricycle operators.

According to report, security officials arrived at the scene at about 11.21a.m, shooting teargas to disperse the angry crowd who blocked the free movement of traffic between Zango-Kulende and Maraba road.
