President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, said the outcome of the Edo State gubernatorial election confirmed his belief for a credible, free and fair election.

Buhari said the outcome of the election was an indication that he was determined to ensure a system where the votes of Nigerians count.

The President said this during his October 1 nationwide broadcast to mark Nigeria’s 60th anniversary.

According to the president: “I am a firm believer in transparent, free, fair and credible elections as has been demonstrated during my period as a democratically elected President.
