TRA-GIC: How Blind Man Was Burnt To Death By His Younger Brother In Anambra | DETAILS
One Mr. Mmaduabuchi Nnofu, a blind man and Coordinator of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Aguata branch in Anambra state, has been allegedly murdered and burnt to death by his younger brother.
A source told ABS, that the deceased and his younger brother, Mr. Onyekachi Nnofu, have been having land dispute prior to the day of the incident.
According to the source, Onyekachi, who is the last male child in the family of four had in countless number of times threatened to kill his elder brother if he doesn’t stay off the piece of land.
He however allegedly fulfilled his threat on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Eziagulu village, Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area of the state at about 12 noon.
Neighbours had converged after they heard noises from the Nnofu’s compound. On arrival, they met the disabled man burnt beyond recognition.
Irate youths were said to have tried to lynch the suspect but for the intervention of the police.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Anambra State, Comrade Ugochukwu Okeke, have condemned the heinous act and called on security agencies and other relevant authorities to wade into the matter as JONAPWD would not rest until justice prevails.
