A barber simply identified as ‘Keke’ has allegedly stabbed his neighbour, one Daniel Adeitan (22) to death for allegedly admiring his pregnant wife in Lagos state.
The incident happened on Monday night at #3 Akintola street, in the Iwaya area of Lagos State at about 10:30pm.
According to report, Keke had returned home when a yet to be identified neighbour informed him that the victim, a fashion designer, was admiring his pregnant wife.
Keke was said to have gotten angered and confronted Daniel, threatening him with a knife. He allegedly pursued Daniel who ran into his apartment where he stabbed him in the chest.
A source told VANGUARD that; “When Keke rushed into Adeitan’s room, Daniel’s pregnant sister pleaded with him to hear her brother out, that it was a mere allegation. He shoved her aside and made for his target.
“She raised the alarm that alerted other tenants. By the time we rushed there, Adeitan could not talk. He had the looks of someone begging for help. He only stretched his hand to us, apparently begging to be taken to the hospital”.
Keke after allegedly stabbing the victim, fled with his wife while Daniel was rushed to Harvey Road Hospital, Yaba, where he later died.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, said;
“As soon as the incident was reported, police detectives attached to the Sabo division immediately visited the scene. The victim was taken to the Harvey Road Hospital, Yaba, for medical attention, but he died while being attended to.
“The body has been deposited at the Yaba Mainland Hospital’s morgue for an autopsy. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the case be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, for diligent investigation. He has also directed that all efforts should be made to arrest the fleeing suspect.”
