Anambra teen allegedly impregnates 10 girls, including boss’ daughter. Commissioner cries out for help, calling it a disturbing and confusing case. Full story inside.
Awka, Anambra State – An 18-year-old boy has sparked public outrage and concern after allegedly impregnating ten girls in a span of five months — including his boss’ daughter and his boss’ salesgirl — shortly after being sent to learn a trade in Anambra State.
The startling revelation was made by the Anambra State Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Ify Obinabo, who took to Facebook Live to seek public advice on how to handle what she described as a “case beyond comprehension.”
According to the Commissioner, the teenage boy was sent to serve as an apprentice to a businessman. However, within just three months of arriving at his master’s shop, he had impregnated both the businessman’s daughter and a female sales staff.
Following the scandal, the young apprentice was expelled and returned to his village. Shockingly, within two more months, he allegedly impregnated eight more girls in the community, bringing the total number of girls involved to ten.
Obinabo revealed that the boy’s mother, overwhelmed and terrified by the bizarre development, reported the matter to her office.
“The mother said anytime she sees a young girl coming towards her compound now, her heart skips a beat. She fears more girls may come forward with pregnancy claims,” Obinabo explained.
“I am appealing to the public to help us understand what is happening here. Is it a case of spiritual manipulation, a mental health issue, or a dangerous trend of deception?” she asked.
Obinabo said she had confronted the boy to know what tactics he used to lure the girls, and his response was baffling.
“He said he only tells the girls that he loves them and promises to marry them once he becomes wealthy. And they fall for it,” she said.
The Commissioner expressed deep concern over the implications of the case, especially given the boy’s age and the alarming number of young girls involved.
“This case is disturbing and far beyond what the Ministry alone can handle. We need spiritual leaders, psychologists, and community stakeholders to come together and intervene,” she concluded.
The situation has ignited heated debates online. While some Nigerians are blaming poor parenting and lack of sexual education, others are demanding psychiatric evaluation and possible spiritual intervention.
Many are calling on the Anambra State Government to launch an immediate investigation and implement stricter policies on sexual conduct, especially among adolescents in rural communities.
