How American Was Arrested In Lagos Airport With Firearms | READ DETAILS
An American citizen have been arrested by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA),Lagos for being in possession of firearms.
The passenger whose name is yet to be made public was arrested on Thursday, April 14, when he arrived Nigeria from Houston aboard a United Airlines flight at 10:00am.
According to a security official who pleaded anonymity, the male passenger who had Nigerian and American international passports, did not declare the firearms when he was checking in as demanded by the international laws on firearm carriage.
However, he had some documents from the U.S which allowed him to carry firearms but the authenticity of the papers could not be ascertained on arrival.
The NIS is currently interrogating the foreigner.
