Delta Police launch manhunt for Sankey Ovemureye after the horrific killing of his daughter, Abigail Stanley, for money rituals in Agbarho.
Delta State, Nigeria — In a horrifying incident, Sankey Ovemureye has reportedly killed his six-year-old daughter, Abigail Stanley, for money rituals in the Uviama New Layout, Agbarho community of Ughelli North Local Government Area. The tragic event occurred on June 15th, shocking the local community and prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the gruesome act in a statement released on Sunday. According to Edafe, the Divisional Police Officer of Agbarho recovered the body of the young girl, whose head had been smashed multiple times against a wall. The suspect, identified as the girl’s father, fled the scene immediately after the act.
“The corpse was recovered and deposited at the mortuary. The father who is the principal suspect is currently at large,” Edafe stated.
In response, Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, has ordered an extensive manhunt for the fugitive. CP Olufemi assured the public that the suspect will be apprehended and justice will be served. He urged anyone with relevant information that could lead to the arrest of Sankey Ovemureye to contact the Control Room at 0803684974 or report to the nearest police station.
