The State Party Chairman APGA Hon. Nkem Okoro has said that contrary to several enquiries on the status of the governorship case filed by APGA and her candidate in the last governorship election, Dr. Alex Otti, that the case is still in court and that no plan what so ever to withdraw the party  APGA from the case.

Hon. Nkem Okoro who stated this in a Press Conference with media men at the Party’s Secretariat, explained that there have been move by some individuals to withdraw the party from the ongoing case, maintaining that such must be disregarded in its entirety.

He said that a date has since been fixed by the Tribunal for adoption of final written addresses by parties, adding that the case has been progressing as expected.

On the issue of the application seeking the withdrawal of APGA from the governorship case, he explained that due to the criminal extortion and demeaning corruption which was committed by the former national leadership of the party led by the former National Chairman, Chief Victor Oye, the party experienced a poor outing in some of the States they would have won the election.

The State Party Chairman further said that the atrocities affected the party at all levels, especially in Abia, Imo and Anambra where passionate party members and aspirants were not only extorted and defrauded, but were unjustly shortchanged and humiliated.

He expressed delight that the former National Chairman has remained a regular guest of the EFCC and the courts due to his involvement in criminal extortions and fraud, noting that it took a long and fierce battle by the governorship candidate Dr. Alex Otti and other progressives to stop the evil men from selling the party governorship ticket to agent of Abia State government/PDP.

Hon. Nkem Okoro further hinted that there was a leaked conversation involving the leaders of the renegades in the State who discussed how they were going to collect money from the PDP led Abia state government for the hatched job who they described as the beneficiaries of this action.

Continuing, he said the party and its candidate is making progress at the tribunal while assuring that soon, he will reclaim his mandate and redeem the state and the people from the hands of her enemies, urging all party faithful to remain resolute and never to give up.
