Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, former Minority Whip in the Abia House of Assembly, urges Southeast tertiary students, particularly those from Arochukwu LGA, to apply for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to address financial challenges in their academics.

In a passionate appeal, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, former Minority Whip of the Abia House of Assembly and Special Assistant to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives on State Legislative Affairs, has called on all tertiary institution students from the Southeast region, particularly those from Arochukwu LGA, to take advantage of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) offered by the federal government.

According to a press release issued by his media assistant, Chimezie Okoroafor, Hon. Ukoha emphasized the need for immediate action by students to apply for the loan, which aims to ease the financial burdens faced by many in their pursuit of higher education. He further urged heads of various institutions across the Southeast to remove any barriers hindering the efficient collection of student data, which is essential for the loan application process.

Hon. Mike Ukoha also called on regional stakeholders, including religious and political organizations, to help mobilize students and ensure widespread awareness and participation. He stressed that this federal initiative offers a crucial opportunity for students struggling financially to access funds and continue their education without hardship.

“This is another opportunity for students, especially those facing financial difficulties, to secure support from the federal government,” the statement read.

The call comes amidst growing concerns over the accessibility of educational funding for students in the Southeast, and Hon. Mike Ukoha’s appeal aims to bridge that gap by encouraging eligible students to apply promptly.

The loan application process is now open, and interested students are encouraged to gather the necessary documentation and submit their applications through their respective institutions.
