The latest, is coming from no less organisation than the Diaspora Innovative Institute.

This is a welcome development and laudable one indeed, which is coming from such a great organisation to the people’s Lawmaker.

No doubt, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, deserves the meritorious award and even more from well meaning organisations.

From the first day he assumed his seat as the member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, he had already set out the goals, aspirations and inspirations for his constituents.

The Minority Whip, scored the first goal, when he initiated a Bill,  known as Abians in Diaspora Commission (ADCOM), passed by members of the House and signed into Law by the Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

As of today, Abia State is the first and only State in Nigeria that has achieved this great feat. Other States that have drawn from Abia experience, include Enugu, Ondo and Nasarawa.

At the Annual National Diaspora Day ceremony held on Monday 25th July, 2022, in Abuja, the Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon.(Dr.)  Abike Dabiri-Erewa, lauded Hon. Ukoha, for initiating the Bill and for giving it an accelerated hearing which led to its signing into law by the Governor.

She hinted that Abia State, has become the first state in the country to have established Diasporan Commission.

Indeed, the people of Arochukwu LGA and Abians in general should be proud of their son, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, for always making them proud, through his policy implementation, Lawmaking prowess and sagacity, as well as making the horns of Abia State to be exalted.

With this great feat recorded and many more already achieved within the space of three (3) years, he deserves our collective support to do more for his constituency and this is where experience, wide knowledge, intuition, networking and political outreach count.

The Lawmaker remains a great asset for the people of Arochukwu State Constituency; and Abians in general and we must not thread this great feat with in-experience and  political levity.

Lawmaking process demands a great love for those you represent, great sacrifices, hardwork, commitment, easily accessible, humility, selfless service and people oriented. This is what Ukoha has in abundance.

It is left for his people to judge him based on his salient performance.

According to the great philosopher, Socrates he once noted “great minds hanker and pursue goals that will affect his environment positively, dull minds dwell on gossips which add no positive things to their environment”.

Hon. Ukoha, is one man with great mind and is using it to change his environment positively and our people need more of him in our clime.

Praise be to God who has always given us something to cheer in our moment of jeer.  Hon. Ukoha deserves our collective support more than ever.
