Women are the heartbeat of Abia’s progress! Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa celebrates International Women’s Day 2025 by highlighting the contributions of women in governance, business, and family life while calling for greater empowerment and recognition.

In a powerful tribute to the women of Abia State and beyond, the State Liaison Officer, National Assembly, Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, has lauded the immeasurable contributions of women to governance, industry, and family life in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025.
Hon. Chinasa, in a statement issued on Friday, March 8, emphasized the need for continuous empowerment, support, and recognition of women in all spheres of society. He highlighted that women are not only caregivers in homes but also trailblazers in business, politics, and governance, playing a critical role in shaping the future of the state and nation.
“Women are the heartbeat of our society, the driving force of industries, and the backbone of governance. Their strength, resilience, and leadership continue to inspire us all. On this special occasion of International Women’s Day, I celebrate every Abia woman and all women breaking barriers, leading with excellence, and making significant impacts,” Hon. Chinasa stated.
Hon. Chinasa emphasized that while progress has been made in empowering women, more still needs to be done to ensure gender inclusivity and equitable representation in leadership positions. He called on both government and private institutions to provide more opportunities for women in governance, business, and entrepreneurship, stating that a society that invests in women is on the path to sustainable development.
“The future of Abia State and Nigeria at large is brighter when we ensure that women have equal opportunities to contribute meaningfully to society. We must continue to uplift, support, and create an environment where every woman can thrive and achieve her full potential,” he added.
The contributions of women in Abia State are evident across different sectors. From entrepreneurs driving economic growth to women in governance influencing policies, their roles are indispensable. The recognition of women’s efforts extends to grassroots development, with several women actively involved in community-building initiatives and advocacy for social justice.
As part of the celebration, various events, including empowerment programs, leadership conferences, and networking forums, were held across the state to highlight the achievements of Abia women and discuss ways to further their advancement.
Hon. Chinasa reaffirmed the government’s commitment to gender equality and urged stakeholders to continue championing policies that promote the rights and welfare of women. He stressed that achieving a society where women thrive requires collective effort from both men and women.
“Together, we can build a state where every woman’s voice is heard, where they have the resources and opportunities to excel, and where their contributions are valued. Happy International Women’s Day to all the incredible women of Abia and beyond!” he concluded.
