A front line gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abia State, Bishop Dr. Sunday Onuoha officially declared his intention to run for the number one office in Abia, says that he was compelled to join the governorship race in order to address the pains and sufferings being witnessed in the state.
Bishop Onuoha who made this known on Friday at a media parley with journalists stated that this is not the time to sound “politically correct” but to rise and make Abia better.
Bishop Onuoha who holds a Doctorate Degree from the Southern Methodist University (SMU) recalled how he had received several calls from different groups like Clean and Clean Abia Group (CACAG), market women, students group, Abia stakeholders, eminent personalities, but ignored them at first, until after deep prayerful thought, personal reflections and consultations with vast selection of stakeholders which made him arrive at a conclusion that Ndi Abia needs a change, and a re-direction to the path of development, and a cleansing that will ensure ourselves and our children can dance to the song of hope and thanksgiving.
“I had humbly expressed my hesitations to a few close friends, considering to harken to the desire of the desire of Ndi Abia; and immediately, I gave my nod and consent, a group of friends and associates contributed funds and purchased my Governorship nomination and Expression of Interest Form”
He expressed hope that change is possible, although it is a journey, but asserted that he will lead Abians to the positive transformation that they have been yearning for over the years.
“Without sounding immodest, I am that Governor Ndi Abia have been praying for. I have garnered wealth of experience in administration, business, public and private sector, of course, in the religious sector, which is my primary assignment, calling and ministry. Let me be the balm and solution to the challenges in Abia State”
