… Application Open for 2025 Abia Leadership Academy — A Free Life-Changing Opportunity for Young Abians
In a bold move to nurture the next generation of transformative leaders, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has officially opened the application portal for the 2025 edition of the Abia Leadership Academy — a trailblazing initiative designed to empower 1,000 outstanding young Abians through mentorship, leadership development, and strategic learning experiences.
The Abia Leadership Academy is a visionary youth-focused programme aimed at instilling the core values of responsibility, discipline, and innovation in selected participants. Governor Otti, through this initiative, seeks to raise a new breed of leaders who are prepared to take charge of tomorrow, equipped with the right mindset, skills, and civic consciousness to disrupt the status quo positively.
Applications are now open to male and female Abians between the ages of 16 and 20, including:
- High-performing students of government-recognised senior secondary schools,
- Students in higher institutions, and
- Recent secondary school graduates awaiting admission into higher institutions.
The programme is completely free, as all registration and training expenses are covered by the Abia State Government. This underscores Governor Otti’s commitment to inclusive governance, youth development, and long-term societal transformation.
The leadership training will cover critical areas including personal growth, communication, policy, entrepreneurship, ethics, innovation, and community service — preparing participants to take on leadership roles across sectors and borders.
Parents, teachers, school administrators, religious leaders, and community influencers are encouraged to nominate and support eligible young people to take advantage of this life-changing opportunity.
