Gov. Ikpeazu Sacks Arochukwu LGA Chairman |SEE REASON

The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, has approved the immediate removal of Mazi Emmanuel Ukwu Obasi Kanu, Transition Committee Chairman, Arochukwu Local Government Area. Mazi Kanu is by this notice directed to immediately hand over property and affairs of the Council to the Deputy Transition Chairman of the Council.

On the other hand, the Governor has graciously approved the recall of the suspended Transition Committee Chairmen of Aba North and South Local Government Areas, Chief Victor Ubani and Hon. Cherechi Nwogu respectively.

These directives take immediate effect.

Information gathered by AFNEWS reveals that the sacking of the Arochukwu LGA chairman maybe connected to an incident that led to the abducting of PDP Councillorship primary in the LGA.

We gathered that PDP Councillorship primary that was expected to hold yesterday November 11, 2020 did not hold in Arochukwu LGA due to some disagreements. The officials sent to officiate the primary had to finally pull out of the LGA.
