Gov. Ikpeazu extolled for restoring confidence in artisans, construction of quality infrastructure

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has been extolled for restoring confidence among Aba artisans, especially those in the shoes, leather works and fabric industries.

A philanthropist and management expert, Chief Eric Egwuibe saluted the Governor’s ingenuity in various sectors of the economy while interacting with news men in Aba.

Chief Egwuibe observed that Aba artisans have “started to gain a lot of confidence and now know how to do new things…They are creative and their creativity is helping them a lot.”

He commended the Governor’s prowess in SME, trade and industries’ development and particularly expressed happiness that Golden Guinea Breweries that was moribund is now rejuvenated under the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Chief Egwuibe appreciated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for construction of quality roads in the State, including roads in Azuka, Ehere, Ukaegbu, Faulks Road, Umuola Aba, among others. He said “I have noticed some remarkable infrastructural developments he has been able to put in place in Aba.
There are some roads prior to his election that were very very bad.”

According to him, “with the quality of those roads I’m sure in the next 20 years nobody will touch those roads in terms of repairs, they were solidly done.”

He maintained that Aba people are particularly appreciative of the works done at the ‘almighty’ Faulks road which defied all remedies, with people presuming that there was a mystery sorrounding it. He also has also pointed out some roads coming up in Aba,for example, Eziukwu road, Okigwe road, Osusu road, Abayi-Umngasi road as well as some commendable works that have been done up to Brass junction.

A passionate community leader, Chief Eric Achi Egwuibe, who hails from Nenu in Obingwa LGA lauded the Governor on rural infrastructural development. He sited the Ekwereazu-Umuaro road as a good example of expanding development in the communities. He appreciated the Governor for undergoing the construction of other rural roads including that of Obikabia-Umueṅe and Umuekea to grant access to the people and grow the economy.

Chief Egwuibe lauded the vigorous campaign carried by the Governor to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 as well his efforts in securing lives and properties of the people. He emphasised that security has greatly improved under Governor Ikpeazu’s administration, affirming that the Governor has done well so far in office.

The frontline Chartered Accountant,who noted that there is need to improve on the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State to support the government in meeting up with its mandate stated that Abia has the capacity to be on top in IGR in Nigeria and urged Abia people and residents to ensure they pay their taxes to enable the government do better.
