Strike: FG To Renegotiate 2009 Agreement With ASUU, Sets Up Committee
The federal government of Nigeria is set to renegotiate the 2009 agreement with striking members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
This is believed to be part of efforts towards finding a lasting solution to the disagreement between the academic union and the government which recently led to a strike action that commenced on February 14, 2022.
All Facts News understands to this end, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu has appointed a 7 man team to negotiate with ASUU.
The team is headed by Prof. Emeritus Nimi Briggs (Pro-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo) who will serve as the Chairman.
According to a statement by the federal ministry of education, the team will be inaugurated by the Minister on Monday, the 7th of March, 2022 at the Minister’s Conference room, headquarters of the Ministry in Abuja by 12 noon.
