[EXCLUSIVE] “Women for Change” prays, gets ready for a new Abia come 2023 |WATCH VIDEO

A vibrant organization that goes by the name “Women for Change” have knelt down to pray to God for massive transformation in the political spheres of Abia State and other States of the nation, come next general election in 2023.

Speaking during her exhortation, the Chairperson of the organization, Lady Jane Ogbauta decried the recent exclusion of the women in the political setting of Abia State, which she narrated could be seen in the just concluded local government election in the State, and the total absence of women in the 7th Assembly of the Abia State House Assembly among other places. She, however, assured the women of their readiness to make the 24-men seat, 50:50 in the next election.

Lady Ogbuatu while commending the efforts of the few women in politics in the State prayed other women not to sell their conscience with the cheap offer of being a woman-leader in different political parties or being attached to a selfish politician while their (women) interests are being undermined by mere using them as spear tyres.

“You see 2023, we must go bumper to bumper with the men towards achieving at least 50:50 in the Abia State House of Assembly, not less than 7 women local government Chairpersons, and a deputy governor of the State. Let’s leave governor for now”, Lady Jane maintained.

The Chairperson who also revealed the recent inauguration of “Women for Change” in Ebonyi and Imo States as well as the yet-to-inaugurate Anambra chapter, urged the women to show more commitment as the organization is getting ready to be visible in all the South-eastern states of Nigeria.

She further advised the women to show utmost cleanliness in all they do and be closer to their husbands while promising that the empowerment of the period is targeted to a great number of women who will get their source of living from the empowerment items.

The event, which witnessed praises, worship, prayers, exhortation, and life-changing testimonies was attended by a large number of women drawn across the 17 local government areas of Abia State.
